ATTENTION! In the winter time, before buying, find out whether the water is frozen or not!
Immediately release the caught fish - both during the day and night! WARNING! Due to the changing water level of the lake, fishermen can be freely distributed along the coast where fishing places are located. Their daily number is limited to give you the best fishing experience possible. The use of boats is allowed. When coarse and groundfishing, all the baits must be placed on 1 single hook. Fishing in bays is prohibited (see map)! Due to the construction works, access to the parking lot on the dam of the large accumulation lake is blocked. Thank you for your understanding.

The fly fishing season generally starts in Slovenia on April 1st and lasts until September 30th. In some districts it starts earlier (as early as March 1st), and ends elsewhere on November 30th.

  • Restrictions
    2 rods are allowed in a max. distance of 1 m. All baits must be mounted on 1 single barbless hook. Mandatory: an unhooking mat, an antiseptic and a landing net with the length of the shorter side at least 100 cm. The angler must also have an ID, pliers, a measuring tape and a pen. Prohibited: use of animal blood and live fish; the use of nets for keeping fish; the use of braided lines as the base line, only nylons are allowed; braids, zig-rig, lead-drop and shock-leader systems; cutting branches and vegetation. Attention: min. the thickness of the line must be 0.40 mm; the longest permitted length of the rig is 30 cm; it is forbidden to remove fish suspected of weighing more than 20 kg from the water; photos of fish only in water. Never lift the fish out of the water in a landing net, but only in a weight sling. After unloading, all vehicles must be parked in the parking lots (see map).

  • Fishing area
    Fishing is allowed in marked pegs (see map). Pegs are strictly defined, they are located on the northern side of the lake and are marked with the number, and on the southern side they are marked with a reflector. In case of violation, the angler will be notified and will have to stop fishing. The angler must fish in the area between two reflectors placed on the opposite bank.
