GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE USE OF THE MOBILE APPLICATION eČUVAJ AND PRIVACY POLICY (valid from: 03 March 2026)
DESCRIPTION:
1.1. The mobile application eČuvaj is a tool intended for fisheries wardens for use within their fishing districts. The mobile application enables direct verification of fishing permits, adding photographs regarding the condition of fishing areas, recording the location of performed inspections for the purpose of identification of records, and recording GPS coordinates of completed routes for informational purposes of calculating traveled distance and proving completed fisheries warden service hours. This service is an “information society service”, and the service provider is a “provider of information society services” within the meaning of the Consumer Protection Act (Official Gazette No. 20/1998, as amended).
PURPOSE:
2. The performance of fisheries warden service is a matter of agreement between the fisheries manager and the fisheries warden and is not the responsibility of the developer or provider of the eČuvaj mobile application.
PRIVACY POLICY
GPS OR COLLECTION OF LOCATION DATA:
2.1. Location data is intended for the purpose of recording completed routes and performed inspections and is voluntary, with the user (fisheries warden) agreeing on such recording with the fisheries manager. The data is accessible only to persons designated by the manager with whom the fisheries warden has concluded a contract for performing fisheries warden service.
When using the application with GPS functionality, GPS must be enabled on the user’s phone, and the application will notify the user of this prior to use. The accuracy of the recorded route depends on the accuracy of the GPS data of the user’s device and the location where the user is situated (availability of GPS satellites).
During an inspection, eČuvaj collects location data in order to:
calculate the approximate distance traveled
record the start and end of the route
record the location of the performed inspection
record the location at the time of taking a photograph
eČuvaj collects location data when minimized but still running and while the user has an active inspection in progress.
IMPORTANT: eČuvaj stops collecting location data when the inspection is concluded.
ADDING PHOTOGRAPHS:
2.2. The application allows uploading photographs for the purpose of providing visual material required for performing fisheries warden service (e.g., fish mortality, cormorants, improper fishing equipment, etc.). Adding photographs is not possible from the device storage but only by capturing an image. The photograph is intended exclusively for use within the fisheries warden service.

This privacy policy explains how the eČuvaj application collects, uses, and protects users’ personal data.
Controller
The eČuvaj application may process the following data:
3.1. Location Data and BACKGROUND_LOCATION
The application may access the location data of the user’s device even when the application is running in the background (BACKGROUND_LOCATION).
Location data is used exclusively for:
– verifying the fisherman’s location in relation to fishing areas
– ensuring application functionality related to the completed route
Location data is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties, except where required by law.
3.2. We process data for:
– verifying the validity of completed inspections,
– fulfilling legal obligations,
3.3. The user has the right to:
– access their data,
– deletion of data,
– lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner.
