The lake is situated in the valley Šaleška dolina near the city of Velenje and was formed as a consequence of hundreds of years of coal mining in this area. The water in this lake is crystal clear and rich in various fish.The main catches are some first class predatory fish (zander, pike, catfish) and some huge wild carps.
